The premise
A cyberpunk car game with a grudge
Rayo Bandido starts with a problem. It is 2069, the city runs on electric, and the combustion engine is against the law. Your car, a low GT86-style coupe with a real gearbox and a real exhaust note, is contraband on four wheels.
So you use it. Throw the rear out with the handbrake, hold the slide, and the drift charges your lightning. Hold E and the bolt reaches further the longer you hold, up to 75 metres. It flies straight down your heading, so you have to line it up. Let go and the EV in front of you goes dark. The yen lands on the HUD. Then the police start taking an interest.

Neon city driving, the way it looks in your head
The open world is Bandido Metro, a dark JDM × cyberpunk city you drive with no clock and no finish line. It is online by default, so other drivers are out there with you, each in their own colour. Here is what you are driving through.
Wet roads that mirror
It rains, and it thunders. The asphalt shows real reflections of the neon, the signs and the lit windows above it. Your rear tyres throw spray off the wet road in a drift.
Traffic in the sky
Hovercars cruise in lanes high over the avenues, with underglow, strobing beacons and the odd searchlight sweeping the street. Drones work the pavements below them.
The viaduct
An elevated highway carries you over the streets, with the water at the edge of the map. Take it flat out between the towers, then drop back down into the alleys underneath.
JDM street culture
La Juntada is the car meet, with parked builds, people and a sound system. Across the street, Loco Mustang's garage lets you put a ラーヨ katakana band across your windscreen.
Heat
Fry an EV in front of a witness and the police come. You get three stars of heat, chasers that flank and cut you off, and radio chatter calling in your drifts and your shots. If they catch you, it costs you.

Night city racing, street by street
When you want a finish line, the city has three of its own. You can drive to their markers in the open world, or jump in from Quick Play on the main menu. Progress is shared either way.
Street Race at La Curva
A 3.8 km lap that starts at the car meet, climbs race-only ramps onto the viaduct, crosses The Stack's deck and its hairpin, and passes over itself on the way. There are three events against AI rivals who get faster each round. Tall holographic chevron walls close the side streets, and there are alleys you can use as shortcuts.
Rayo Rush
A short score run in the city. Style points come from drift angle and shot distance, and a live ladder shows you against everyone else's best.
Apagón
Blackout missions at the Tower. Steal power from the EVs, overload the grid and buy the resistance a few seconds of darkness. You can play them solo or as a two-player co-op.
Online, any of them can be a room. Open one, send the link and your friends join you: up to four on a Street Race grid, launching on the same countdown. Cars are solid, so you can lean on a rival into a corner. Lightning is for EVs only, though. Rivals are off limits, and the race is about driving.

Build the outlaw
There is one car in Rayo Bandido, and it is yours to build. Loco Mustang's workshop sits across from the car meet. Inside you can change rims, spoiler, hood, trunk, side skirts, headlights and taillights, then the paint, the vinyls, the decals and the plate. Among the decals is a ドリフト "drift" katakana sticker.
The coupe has weight you can feel. It dives on the brakes, squats on the throttle and rolls into a corner, and the tail builds up before it lets go, so you can catch a slide instead of having it snap. Drive the six-speed on automatic, or press T for manual and hold a gear through the bend.
Parts are bought with the ¥ you earn in the city, never with real money.

- Pick OPEN WORLD or QUICK PLAY. Choose the city and whoever is in it, or go straight to a race.
- Take BadKala's call. On your first run she talks you through your first drift and your first EV. After that, the city is yours.

The arrow keys work as well as WASD, and so does a gamepad. On a phone, turn it sideways for the thumb pad, then tap the middle of the screen to fire.
Questions, answered
Is Rayo Bandido a free cyberpunk racing game?
Yes. Rayo Bandido is free to play in any modern browser, with nothing to download and no account needed to start. You can sign in with Google or Discord later if you want to keep a nickname and your progress on the leaderboards, and the parts at Loco Mustang's garage are paid for with the in-game yen you earn on the street — never real money.
Is Rayo Bandido set in Night City?
No. Night City is the setting of Cyberpunk 2077, and Rayo Bandido has nothing to do with it. Our city is Bandido Metro, an original place set in 2069 where combustion engines are illegal. If what you are after is night city racing in general, rain, neon and elevated highways after dark, that is exactly the mood here.
Can I play this cyberpunk car game on my phone?
Yes. Open rayobandido.com on your phone and hold it sideways. You get a thumb pad with steering, ACEL, FRENO, MANO and NOS, and tapping the empty middle of the screen fires lightning. It is the same city and the same physics as on a computer, and the game can be installed to your home screen. A keyboard or gamepad on a desktop is still the best way to play.
Can I race my friends online?
Yes, two ways. The open world is a shared online city for up to eight cars, so friends who pick OPEN WORLD simply appear next to you. For a proper race, go to QUICK PLAY, pick Street Race and choose ONLINE to open a room for up to four drivers. Send the link, and everyone launches from the same countdown.
What do you actually do in Rayo Bandido?
You drift to charge a lightning bolt, then hold E to aim it down your heading and let it go at an electric car. Every EV you fry pays out in yen, which you can spend on your car. Around that loop there are Street Races against AI rivals, Rayo Rush score runs, Apagón blackout missions and police who will chase you.
Do I need a powerful PC to run it?
No. Rayo Bandido runs on WebGL in the browser and adjusts its own render resolution when your graphics card starts dropping frames, so it plays on ordinary laptops and phones. A dedicated GPU gives you sharper reflections on the wet roads, and every shader is compiled on the loading screen, so the first drift and the first shot do not stutter.
The city is electric. You are not.
